FREDERICTON (GNB) – A business delegation from New Brunswick will attend a Canadian-American conference in St. John’s on July 23 to 25.

The delegation, which includes representatives from seven companies and officials from Opportunities NB, will work to strengthen private sector trade relationships by participating in the Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Conference.

Greg Turner, minister responsible for Opportunities New Brunswick and for Economic Development and Small Business, is part of the delegation.

“Companies within our province include many with the potential for rapid growth,” said Turner. “By focussing upon these sectors, we can prioritize resource allocation, develop internal expertise, and market our province as a great place to invest and do business. I am proud that our province is a member of this strong alliance, and grateful for the opportunity it offers to enhance commercial ties and promote multilateral trade and investment.”

The aim of the alliance is to strengthen the long-standing trade and investment relationship between the United States and Canada to enable and sustain mutually beneficial economic growth.

Members of the alliance include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.

The seven companies participating in New Brunswick’s delegation are:

  • Siemens Canada
  • Mariner Partners Inc.
  • J.D. Irving Ltd.
  • Atlantic Towing Ltd.
